Finding the right size

A condom that's too tight can feel uncomfortable or break, while one that's too loose can slip off. Regular condoms fit most people, closer-fitting styles suit a slimmer girth and larger or king size condoms offer more room. If a regular condom feels tight, try a larger fit.

Choosing a texture

Ultra-thin condoms transmit warmth and sensation for a more natural feel. Ribbed and studded condoms add texture for the receiving partner. Mixed packs are a great way to discover what you both enjoy.

Using lube with condoms

A little water-based or silicone lube inside the tip and more on the outside reduces friction and helps prevent breakage. Avoid oil-based products with latex condoms, because they weaken the material.

Putting on a condom correctly

Check the expiry date, open the wrapper carefully, pinch the tip to leave room, roll it down the erect penis and hold the base when withdrawing. Use a new condom every time.

Storage and expiry

Store condoms somewhere cool and dry, away from wallets and car glove boxes where heat and friction can damage them.
